Correction: 5k is now FREE and no park clean up this saturday

Sorry to clog email boxes, but two items to correct from the previous email:
1) The neighborhood 5k is now FREE!
2) The park clean up happened last weekend, so there will not be one again this weekend.

FREE RAIN BARREL WORKSHOP - SEPTEMBER 17

As many of you may know, the city's Water Department is working hard to improve Philadelphia's stormwater management system in an effort to lessen the burden on the sewer pipes that transport rainwater runoff to our streams and rivers. Infiltration and retention on-site are the buzz words, and PWD is encouraging individual home owners to do their part.
South Street Bridge Design Approved by the Art Commission

Just a quick update about the progress of the South Street Bridge, which many have been involved in over the past months and years.
Yesterday, the design presented to the community last month was approved by the Philadelphia Art Commission.

Nasha Harmon Memorial Fund
Submitted by admin on Mon, 2009-08-24 13:46.For those who don't already know, a little 11-year-old girl named Nasha Harman died last week in a house fire at 1920 Carpenter Street. The funeral was this past Saturday at the New Light Beulah Baptist Church at 17th and Bainbridge.
