Just a quick reminder about tonight's general meeting at which you will elect five members to SOSNA's Board of Directors.
WHEN: Wednesday, October 14th
TIME: Sign-in starts at 6:30 PM
PLACE: 1941 Christian Street, St. Charles Senior Center.
The evening's agenda will be as follows. Actual times may vary depending on turnout:

The annual election of five members to the Board of Directors of the South of South Neighborhood Association is to be held NEXT WEDNESDAY OCTOBER 14th. During this meeting we will also be announcing the WINNERS OF THE 2009 STREETSCAPE CONTEST!

REMINDER: NEIGHBORHOOD CLEAN UP DAY TOMORROW, October 3rd 9-1

A reminder to all that tomorrow's going to be a neighborhood clean up day! Remember this is a great time to clean your alleys.
We just picked up a lot of supplies from the city today which we will be distributing from the SOSNA Office starting at 8:30 AM tomorrow morning. The SOSNA Office is located at 1901 Christian Street. These supplies include:
Brown bags
Gloves
Leaf rakes
Iron rakes
Flat shovels
Digging shovels
Push brooms
Announcing the SOSNA STREET TREE PLANTING MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM

It is SOSNA's great pleasure to announce the STREET TREE PLANTING MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM. This program is intended to encourage residents and business owners to plant and properly maintain street trees, which benefit the entire community.
If certain steps and criteria are met, SOSNA will reimburse the lesser of $200 or 50% of the cost of installing a street tree, and if a tree pit does not already exist, also the lesser of $75 or 50% of the cost of cutting a new tree pit.

Just a last-minute reminder of tonight's important meeting to nominate your friends or yourself to the SOSNA Board of Directors. We'll also be looking for volunteers to sit on the Elections Committee which oversees the tallying of votes and announcement of the results.
In addition to nominations, SOSNA will be announcing its brand new initiative, the Street Tree Planting Matching Grant Program, to help encourage you and your fellow neighbors to plant and maintain a street tree outside the house.

All right, the fall is approaching and with that comes a lot of exciting neighborhood activities. We want to make special note of WEDNESDAY SEPTEMBER 23, AT 7 PM for the SEPT. SOSNA GENERAL MEETING. More detailed info is below about the agenda, but the important item to note is that at this meeting, we'll be accepting nominations for the SOSNA Board of Directors. Please make special note of this event, and hopefully we'll see you at some of the others on the list below.
Correction: 5k is now FREE and no park clean up this saturday

2) The park clean up happened last weekend, so there will not be one again this weekend.
