NEW Farmer's Market at JULIAN ABELE PARK Starting This FRIDAY, 3-7 PM!!
Dear neighbors:
The Friends of Julian Abele Park and SOSNA are very pleased to announce a new FARMER'S MARKET in our neighborhood!
The market will take place at Julian Abele Park (22nd and Carpenter Streets) EVERY FRIDAY, starting THIS FRIDAY, JUNE 25, from 3-7 PM.
We all know that getting a market for our neighborhood is long overdue. South of South Street is the beginning of what the First Lady and others would call a Food Desert - a district with little or no access to foods needed to have a healthy and nutritious diet. That's why we are so excited to welcome Jacob and Emma Beiler, an Amish couple directly from Lancaster County PA.
The Beiler's will be selling a wide variety of produce, flowers, baked good, and some dairy. Their product list will likely change from week-to-week. So we're working with Jacob to get an advanced list of the products for sale each week, and that list will be posted on the website for Julian Abele Park - www.julianabelepark.org
The Beilers accept FNMP vouchers (www.fns.usda.gov/wic/fmnp/fmnpfaqs.htm)!
PLEASE COME OUT AND SUPPORT THIS NEW MARKET!!! Spread the word - tell everyone you know!
