REMINDER - Police & Clean and Green Meetings tonight; Zoning Tomorrow

Dear neighbors:

Tonight's a great night to come together and tackle two crucial (and linked) issues for this neighborhood - CRIME & LITTER.

First, come to the SOSNA office at 6 PM to meet with police officers from the 17th Police District.  Every month they update the community on crime trends for the past month, especially theft from auto, burglaries, and strong-arm robberies - where crimes have taken place, the assailant and victim profile, and time of day.

Second, immediately following the PSA meeting, join the SOSNA Clean & Green committee to discuss various initiatives addressing the neighborhood's trash, recycling, and greening issues.

On a separate note, the FRIENDS OF JULIAN ABELE PARK are still searching for vendors for their FLEA MARKET/BAZAAR this Saturday, June 19th at the 22nd and Carpenter Streets.  Interested parties should contact Phil Frank (215-586-3857) or Nicole Herman (215-218-8747) for additional information.  Checks and money orders should be made payable to Friends of Julian Abele Park, a non-profit.  THE SALE OF FOOD IS STRICTLY PROHIBITED. http://www.julianabelepark.org/June2010_Flea_Market_Reg_Form.pdf More info: http://www.julianabelepark.org/

And lastly, a big thank you to those who joined with SOSNA to donate money to keep the pools open this summer.  Our efforts were successful - 70 POOLS WILL STAY OPEN THIS SUMMER THANKS TO YOU!  See philly.com coverage here.
