SOSNA Street Tree Planting Matching Grant Program

The South of South Neighborhood Association is pleased to announce the first iteration of the STREET TREE PLANTING MATCHING GRANT PROGRAM.

This program is intended to encourage people to plant trees throughout our neighborhood.  If the steps outlined in the attached "Terms and Conditions" are completed, SOSNA will reimburse the lesser of $200 or 50% of the cost of acquisition and installation of the tree.  In addition, if a sufficient sized pit is not already present, SOSNA will reimburse the lesser of $75 or 50% of the pit installation cost.

The SOSNA Board has authorized funding for 40 street trees to be planted during fall of 2009.  The funds will be allocated on a FIRST-COME FIRST SERVE BASIS to eligible participants who meet the program eligibility and requirements.

All other details can be found in the form available below.

PLEASE NOTE: RESIDENTS ARE ELIGIBLE FOR REIMBURSEMENTS ONLY AFTER A REIMBURSEMENT AGREEMENT HAS BEEN SUCCESSFULLY COMPLETED AND APPROVED.

Finally, please take the time to read the information available on the Tree Planting page of the SOSNA website, which details the other options available for planting a tree, how to properly care for your tree, and links detailing the many benefits streets trees have for communities.
