SOSNA STREETSCAPE CONTEST (Formerly Window Box Competition)

Congratulations to the winners of the 2009 contest, and thank you to the judges and all the neighborhood businesses that donated prizes to our contest.

There is no fee to enter, but we encourage all entrants to join SOSNA.  You may do so by emailing all your contact details to AndrewD@southofsouth.org or by stopping by the SOSNA office at 1901 Christian Street.

Winners will be selected for First, Second, and Third Place in each of the three categories.

Prizes include valuable gift certificates at local establishments.

Entries will be judged by professionals in the field of horticulture and design.  Judging will be between Friday August 28 and Monday August 31, 2009. Entrants need not be present, but will be notified in advance of judging. 　

How will judges evaluate your entry?  Five criteria will be observed:

1. Suitability of plants Max 15
2. Suitability of Containers or plantings 10
3. Horticultural Practices 10
4. Maintenance 25
5. Design/Overall Impression 40

Total 100

To enter the contest, please send your name, house address, phone number, email address to AndrewD@southofsouth.org with "STREETSCAPE CONTEST" in the subject line, or stop by the SOSNA office at 1901 Christian Street to sign up.  Be sure to state what category you are entering.

The deadline to enter is Friday, July 31, 2009.

Winners will be announced at the September SOSNA General Meeting.
